Attitude of the Heart And the Mind.

How quickly it is to forget that the mind and heart are connected, both ultimately affecting our behavior, our behavior to others as well as ourselves.

We talk so much about the heart, the condition of it, the surrender of it, the evaluation of it, even the attitude of it…all very important.  Trust me, for someone who had protected her heart for so long, I know the value of the heart.

But we can’t neglect the mind.

Ephesians: 4:23-24 – to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

We can examine our hearts all we want, but if our minds don’t grasp the foundational truths as well, then it will be difficult for our behaviors and habits to change.  They work together.  Revelations enter both the heart and the mind.  The Spirit works through both the heart and the mind.  We learn through both the heart and the mind.

Psalm 26:2-3 – Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.

It’s not just a heart that is transformed.  It’s a Life transformed.  It’s wholeness.
